Hello, friends. Welcome to the show. I’m your host, Brandon C White. Today I am going to share with you the one word that has made me 10 X more productive and can do the same for you. I’m sure you’re anxious. Hear what it is? So let’s not waste another second and get to the one word that increase my productivity 10 x and could do the same for you.
So let’s cut to the chase. What is the one word that can increase your productivity? 10. X like it did mine. It’s outsource, and I’ve talked about it in many other episodes but haven’t really dedicated a single show to it. And I want to talk about it here because most recently I have really noticed how much more productive it’s made me. And here’s what I did originally. I, as a solar entrepreneur, would try to do all the tasks, and the day would run out before you knew it. It’s 9 45 at night. I had not exercised. I barely eaten, and I barely hung out with my wife. That sound familiar, and that’s not productive.
In fact, it goes against my entire philosophy of mind, body business balance. It doesn’t work, and it’s hard to keep those things balanced. But the end of the day we can’t do everything in our business. And in fact, we’re not even good at all the things that it takes to run a business. So you need to figure out what you’re good at, and even if you’re good at it, what you just don’t have time to do, and then you need to outsource it. And my number. One piece of advice for you is to find an E A or V a an executive assistant or a virtual assistant, and you can find these.
You can use up work, go through the list, try a few of them their services out there that you can use that will help find you one. A simple search on Google will give you a plethora of options. If I were doing it again, I would go to up work and I would search. In fact, I just outsourced video editing for our YouTube channel. I started to do it myself, and what I realized was is I just don’t have enough time not to mention I am not an expert. I’m good, but I don’t even have time to become an expert.
So I went toe up work. I looked at 12 of them. I did research, I wrote to him and we just hired a lady who is going to be spectacular for us for the YouTube channel and is going to be able to do far better than what I would ever have been able to do. And all the hours that I’m going to save my r o, I is going to be at least 10 X because I’m gonna be doing other work now. You might be saying to yourself, Yeah, that all sounds good, Brandon. You have a business up and running, and you can afford quote unquote toe higher and outsource something. Well, the truth is, in the beginning years, you may not be able to, but in today’s world, there is affordable solutions. You can easily hire a virtual assistant or executive assistant, or even a contractor for very reasonable rates.
And when you think about it, in many ways, you can’t afford to not do this because you won’t move your business forward. So think about doing that for yourself. The first person that I would recommend that you hire is some sort of virtual assistant. In fact, another thing that we recently did is my e a extraordinary Guia. She was getting saturated with task because I just started offloading things and over the years that adds up.
So we actually got JIA a V a. So the e A in our structure has a V a and it’s working great and it gives people responsibility and learning how to manage. So this is how you can start to scale it. Thea Other thing that I do have is a productivity tool that we’re actually building a piece of software, but we did the M V P. The minimal viable product in Google sheets. I think. Actually, JIA programmed it and we use Google Survey to actually build it and test it. And you can check that productivity tool out in the link in the show notes, and it will literally walk you through any decision that you need to make.
And it will tell you if you should do it yourself or outsource it. And I love to hear your feedback on it. I use this all the time I basically took the process that I use in my head. Now I codified it, so to speak, and then we programmed it, and we’re gonna launch it on our site as a widget in 2000 and 21. But in the meantime, you could test it out in the Google survey, which works just great. And I will tell you are marketing Director checked it out and she said, Oh, I used it, Brandon.
But I was so disappointed because in one step I got to I shouldn’t do it. Should we do something else? And the answer is no. If you shouldn’t do it, just cut it out and move on. But overall, the idea here is is that there’s so many tasks that we have to do on a daily basis as an entrepreneur, and we want to do them all. But we can’t do them all, and in fact we’re not good at all of them.
So for 2021 I think for all of us, our goal is and should be. Figure out what we’re good at, figure out what we’re not good at, and then figure out what we can afford to outsource and do that. I’ll put some links in the show notes to check out so that in addition to the productivity tool to check out some other links that I recommend so that you can find a virtual assistant and thank you friends for tuning into the show.
